Manifest MedEx Announces Mimi Hall as Director, Public Health Innovation
County health director brings more than 20 years of experience in public health and government agencies
Emeryville, Calif. – (BUSINESS WIRE) – September 30, 2021 — Manifest MedEx (MX) today announced that Mimi Hall, veteran California county public health leader, will join the nonprofit health data network in November as Director, Public Health Innovation. In her new role, Hall will lead MX’s collaboration with county and state agencies to improve public health and prevention. MX is the state’s largest health data network and currently spans more than 28 million Californians, 125 hospitals, 1,500 ambulatory care sites, and nine health plans.
“With the expansion of Medi-Cal and bold legislation that will require providers, hospitals, and health plans to share health data, California stands at a pivotal moment when we can truly transform public health for generations,” said Claudia Williams, CEO, Manifest MedEx. “In addition to supporting more seamless care delivery, MX is committed to helping California strengthen public health, reduce disparities, and improve community health. We’re thrilled to have Mimi, a passionate leader who has dedicated her career to improving public health and health equity, join our team to champion those efforts.”
Hall has more than 20 years of experience in public health and expertise in federal, state, and county public health programs. She has served continuously as a California local public health director since 2005 in Sierra, Plumas, Yolo, and Santa Cruz counties. She is joining MX from Santa Cruz, where she served as Health Services Agency Director.
As an active statewide health leader, Hall served as President of the County Health Executives Association of California from 2018 to 2020 and served on its Legislative, Small County, and Executive Committees.
“Throughout my career, I have advanced accessible comprehensive health information and community–level data to improve health outcomes and erase disparities,” said Hall. “As we have learned from the pandemic, counties and community partners must share health information on those they jointly manage across social services, probation, housing, behavioral health, and more to achieve better health outcomes, especially for vulnerable populations. I am thrilled to be able to use my years of expertise and knowledge in new and different ways at MX to expand health data exchange across the state.”
