New MX EMPI Provides Better Patient Matching
On Saturday November 14, Manifest MedEx migrated to the Verato Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) platform. Verato’s modern platform and proprietary matching algorithms allow us to more accurately identify and match patients with their data. This effort continues our commitment to improve the availability and accuracy of our data to get you the information you need.
Product Updates
MX Brings HIE into the Epic Workflow
Manifest MedEx is preparing to launch an exciting new app that will allow care teams to view a targeted set of patient information from MX directly in your Epic EHR. The MX app will provide patient profiles without requiring users to navigate to a website or go through additional logins, and will tell care teams if a patient is positive for COVID-19, what medications the patient has filled, and any information from CURES regarding Schedule II, III, and IV controlled substance prescriptions that have been dispensed to the patient. The MX app was successfully added to one health system's Epic EHR in a test environment with plans to initiate a full pilot in December. Keep an eye out for more updates regarding the MX app in future newsletters.
Connecting Emergency Providers and Hospitals Across the State
MX is actively implementing +EMS SAFR in 5 counties across California. It the first +EMS grantee to complete Milestone 1-b in the state across any active +EMS grants with Cal EMSA, and has been granted two expansion awards for the grant to include more hospitals and portable medical orders (POLST).
MX is on eHealth Exchange and Carequality
MX is now live on Carequality through the eHealth Exchange hub, which significantly expands how MX can both receive and share health information to support your care delivery and care coordination efforts. For organizations that have encountered challenges sharing care summaries (CCDA) with MX and are on one of these networks, the good news is they can now meet their MX participation requirements through these national networks without additional coordination or effort to build interfaces with MX. If your organization is on the eHealth Exchange hub or Carequality, MX will query your organization for care summaries before the end of 2020.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THIS FEDERAL MANDATE
Under its new Condition of Participation (CoP) regulation, CMS is requiring nearly all hospitals to deliver admit, discharge, transfer (ADT) notifications to community providers as a condition of participation by May 1, 2021. If you already have an ADT feed live with MX, we’ve got you covered for this CMS ADT requirement.
Join us for a webinar at 12PM PST on Friday, December 4, 2020 to learn more about this new mandate and how California hospitals can ensure compliance.
